The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently checking out the Fernie 2 Group Hall in Mpuluzi to render solutions into the community.

SASSA will be rendering expert services such as new social grant applications, change of payment method, client care enquiries, together with the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In a press release, the agency mentioned it is alarmed about the significant quantity of people depending on social grants for survival.
“The aim with the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to some superior quantity of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“This is certainly as a result of lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no fully functional office committed to service the area regularly. The support place created for intervention sassa encounters a significant inflow of possible beneficiaries, which makes it tricky for the office to attend to all people who go to a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise additional resources to empower the servicing of all consumers and boost access to Social Assistance products and services,” the agency said.
